Beta terms and privacy
Version beta-2026-10-29. Short and plain on purpose. If anything is unclear, write to support@aliasmonk.com.
This is a private beta
AliasMonk is unfinished and invite-only. Things may break, change or be reset, and there is no guarantee of uptime. Please don't rely on it yet for mail you can't afford to miss, such as banking or medical messages. The beta is free; we'll tell you well before anything costs money.
What we keep
- Your account: email address and a hashed password (we never see the password itself).
- Your aliases, identities, forwarding addresses, settings and block list.
- For each email an alias receives: when it arrived, its size and which alias got it. We use this to deliver it and to stop abuse.
- If an alias keeps mail in your inbox, the message itself, encrypted, for as long as your inbox setting says, then it's deleted automatically.
- Mail we forward is kept, encrypted, for at most 7 days so a failed delivery can be retried, then deleted.
Who can read your mail
Stored mail is encrypted with a key unique to your account. Our servers decrypt it only to show it to you or forward it to you. We don't read your mail, sell your data or show ads. Honestly put: because our servers can decrypt it, this protects you against a leak of our database, not against us; that's why we keep as little as we can.
Services we use
Supabase (database and accounts), Cloudflare (receiving and sending mail, storage), Vercel (this website), Stripe (payments, not active during the beta) and Sentry (error reports, with email addresses and message content removed before they leave us). Your data is stored in the United States.
Backups
An encrypted copy of the database (not your stored mail) is made every night and kept for 30 days.
Leaving and deleting your account
In Settings you can download a copy of your data and delete your account yourself. Deleting is immediate: your aliases stop working and are never given to anyone else, and your inbox, settings and forwarding addresses are removed. Nightly backups that still contain your data are deleted within 30 days. You can also email support@aliasmonk.com from your account's address and we'll do it for you.
Fair use
Don't use AliasMonk to send spam, break the law, harass anyone or get around another service's rules. We may suspend accounts that do, and we'll tell you why unless that would help the abuse.
Things it doesn't do yet
You can't reply from an alias yet. Pressing Reply on forwarded mail sends it to a no-reply address that bounces with an explanation, so your real address isn't revealed; write to the sender directly if you need to answer. Private phone numbers come later.
We'll email you before these terms change in a way that matters. Back to sign-up
